Dean Smith is trying to teach us to do whats right more than anything else. Dean Smith's quote also means that doing whats right is always the best choice. Doing the right thing can't compare to winning a championship. When he says that he was trying to do the right thing, he doesn't just mean winning but also by making all his players feel special.
