Class Evaluation

Class Evaluation

  1. I liked that i got to learn how to type without having to look down all the time.
  2. I didn't like that we always had to type about CTR all the time, it was like all the posts we did led up to Choosing The Right.
  3. Different student success statements and different meaning towards them.
  4. A highlight for me in this class was when we were creating our blog because i had fun creating it.
  5. Yes i did but i know i could have done a lot better.
  6. Yeah i do every single day and i always add on to it.
  7. Yes I am because i feel that that's always the best choice.
  8. That the best answer to no answer is to choose the right.
  9. I will always remember Mr.Haymore and his lectures and his CTR cards.

You will go far with CTR

"You will go far with CTR"
Mr.Haymore

Reflection: I agree with Mr.Haymore, if you're always choosing the right it will always open doors for you and opportunities for you. If you ctr I can back fire on you and eventually it will affect you more than you thought it would. Just by doing one little wrong thing it can set you back a whole lot fast than doing the right thing all the time. For example if you choose to not go to basketball practice because you feel to lazy, it will set you back a whole lot more than your other teammates who did go. But if you do choose the right and go to practice you'll become more better. It's not even just by going to practice it's better to be at practice and work harder and more than everyone else. You can go far by choosing the right because you'll never be thinking about the bad things you're doing because you're never doing any of those things. If you're always CTW, then you're pretty much always setting yourself back every time. By always doing the right thing people look at you differently they see you as more reliable and responsible. By doing that the coach can easily promote you to being captain and other things like that.

The Ultimate Choice

The Ultimate Choice
Of all the choices you will ever make, one choice supersedes all others-the ultimate choice. This one choice will help you to always make correct decisions for the remainder of your life. This one choice, The Ultimate Choice, is your keystone for being the best student and person you can possibly be. This one choice will forever affect you for good more than any other choice.
THE ULTIMATE CHOICE is:
To be a CTR Person-to Always CHOOSE THE RIGHT 24/7!!!
Mr.Haymore
Reflection: I agree with what this quote is trying to represent, the best thing to do is the right thing. Whenever you don’t know what to do the best thing to do is what you think is right. You will never regret doing what is right, and you will always feel good about it. Even if people don’t agree with what you have to say or do it doesn’t matter because you know you’re doing the right thing. By choosing to be a CTR person you are opening a lot of doors for yourself. People are able to respect you more and trust you a lot more as well. When you always choose the right not everyone is going to agree with you but it doesn’t matter because you know you’re doing the right thing. By becoming a CTR person you will attract a lot of new friends. Not only friends but friends that are respectful and trustworthy.

Smoking tobacco can cause you to have trouble breathing and to cough a lot with phlegm. If you have asthma smoking tobacco can cause you to have more frequent attacks. Tobacco can also give you diseases like emphysema and can lead to lung cancer. There are more than 480,000 deaths every year because of tobacco and secondhand smoking. More than 16 million people have diseases cause by the use of tobacco. Nearly 9 out of 10 people who smoked have started when they were just a teenager. 73% of high schoolers were found to use tobacco  and 56% of middle schoolers were found smoking tobacco.

beauty in character will be peace in the world

“If there is beauty in character, there will be peace in the world.”
Chinese Proverb
Reflection: I agree with this quote because the only way to have peace is for all of us to have good character. We have to respect one another and treat each other like we want to be treated. We can’t be hypocrites, but we have to make sure we’re always having good character. If we want something to happen we have to set the example. The things is that if have a good character means being someone i’m not then i would want to have good character. I rather just be myself but still respect other and treat them how i want to be treated. An example can be something like if someone does a favor for someone. Then that guys goes and does someone else a favor. That’s the only way that this could work. Someone has to set the example on how to have good character. I totally agree with quote by chinese proverb even though i might never happen.

Challenges Teens Face Today

Challenges Teens Face Today
One huge challenge teens face today is drugs and the pressure to study. Not only that but also to get into a good college, you also face pressure in a relationship. You constantly feel that you need to look good and you feel that you have to excel at everything. They might not be certain of the future which causes them to stress out. The two major challenges we face today is drugs and the pressure to study. I make sure to stay away from drugs and to not get caught up in them. I also make sure I study almost everyday at least once. Becoming a ctr person helps you realize the bad things about stuff and helps you know that if you do the right thing, you will always be rewarded. We can helps other teens with their problems by helping them with school work that they need help with. And to listen to the ones that have other types of problems and figure of a method on how to help them.
Reflection: The greatest need that i student has is education, and the ability to be able to learn a lot.

It's better to fail with honor than win by cheating

It's better to fail with honor than win by cheating. After all, if you fail with honor you are still a winner

Malik Stewart is known as a good person because of one act he did, in the other hand Roman Chapa is known as a bad person because of how he cheated. In Malik Stewart’s story we learn that you should always do the right thing even in rough times. Even though he lost the match he decided to be a good sport and congratulate his opponents dad. Instead of being mad and walking away he did the right thing. In the other hand Roman Chapa and his story, he decided to cheating. Roman Chapa chose the wrong because he thought it could benefit him, which it did but not for long. He got caught and now he looks like a bad person because of one bad thing he did. Now he got his privilege to race taken away from him. Even though Malik didn’t win he will still be known as a winner. And even though Roman won he will always be known as a loser.

I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating

“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”- Sophocles
I would have to agree with Sophocles, the best thing to do is be honest. Because then you wouldn’t be able to forgive yourself for winning by default or by cheating. You’re victory sure wouldn’t feel as good or the same than if you would have just did it the right way. For example if you were to cheat on one of your finals, and you end up getting 100% on it. You won’t feel as good as if you would have just studied and not cheated. More than likely you won’t be able to get that guilt out of your head. Just like Sophocles i would rather fail but do it the right way. Then cheat and win it all because then i would just feel guilty. Sophocles is also trying to say that the best thing to do is the honest and right thing. It will make you feel a lot more better than being dishonest.

Eight great reasons to tell the truth

Eight great reasons to tell the truth
Barbara A. Lewis
Image result for truth
  1. Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There’s less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict.
  2. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed  or punished.
  3. Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened.
  4. You usually get in less trouble for telling the truth other than for lying (and getting caught).
  5. Other people trust you more when you tell the truth.
  6. You don’t have to tell (and remember) more lies to keep your story straight.
  7. You gain a reputation for being truthful- a trait most people value.
  8. Telling the truth helps you to feel secure and peaceful. Inside.

I agree with Ms. Lewis with some of these reasons, like reason 3 is just plain dumb. But i do like reason 5 because i do think that people do trust you more when you tell the truth. I also think you should always tell the truth even if you know it can hurt the other person. Reason number 6 is kinda true as well because once you lie you more than likely going to keep having to lie. Number 7 is also true because people can start notice that you lie to much. Then they’ll never want to hang out with you or even talk to you. Maybe because they think you’re just going to backstab them or you’re going to do something behind their backs. Number 8 i think is just mental and internal, if you think you’re trustworthy than you wouldn’t think like that even if you really aren’t trustworthy.

good values

“The most important thing you will ever have is good values.” -Dennis Prager

I agree with Mr. Prager the best thing that someone can have is their own values because that’s what makes them unique. Also because without them we would all be the same. Everyone would be copying how everyone speaks and talks. The one thing that makes all of us unique is our values. The values that Dennis is talking about are the good habits that you have not the bad ones.

an internal phenomenon

“The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: Self-respect, dignity (Self-worth), integrity, and self-esteem.”
Dr. Laura Schlessinger
I can agree with Dr. Schlessinger because when you do something good you don’t always get a physical reward. Most of the time the reward you get is mental. Just like when you do something bad, it’s all mental. When you do something that you know is right, then you feel a lot better about yourself. When you doing something bad, and you’re constantly thinking about it, you feel terrible about it. By doing the right thing you gain more respect for yourself and self-esteem. For example if you made a promise to someone but you know that you’re breaking that promise. When you start to become or aware about it you start to feel bad and guilty. Dr.Schlessinger is also trying to say that the internal reward is way more valuable than the external reward. I agree with her but i also feel that you only feel guilty is you’re conscious aware about it.

Phillip Riggs’ Four Success Tips

Phillip Riggs’ Four Success Tips

  1. Work Hard
  2. Follow your passions. Do things you are interested in doing.
  3. Don’t chase after money.
  4. Serve others. Do good things for others, and good things will come to you.

Reflection: I think that these four tips helped me realize that I should be looking for a job that I’m passionate about not only for the money. Also that nothing in life is just handed to you, you have to work for it and work hard. Also do things for others just like you would want them to you. Also that money really isn’t everything. By serving others and putting others before you, you invest in them. Then they’ll know that they can count on you for anything and you can count on them for anything as well. Also by working hard, and doing it all the time you’ll get better results which would make it more fun to do.  In my opinion i rather be a job that i love then in a job that i don’t like but need for the money. If you’re passionate and good at something why not pursue that path and see where it takes you. But not only for the money but because you love what you’re doing.

the best thing you can do is the right thing

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing.”
Theodore Roosevelt

Reflection: I agree with the former president Roosevelt, the best thing you can do is the right thing. One reason is because why would you want to do something the wrong way, if you can do it the right way the first time. Even if you know that the wrong way is easier than the right way. Eventually the right way will help you in the near future. One example can be cheating, if you decide to cheat on a test instead of doing it the right way. In the future when your teacher wants to do a review on the same thing, you won’t know what it’s about and you’ll end up failing that review. Another good example can be, something like if your friends decide to go to a movie on thursday night but you know you have a test tomorrow. The best and most productive thing you can do is stay home and study for that test. That is what this quote is trying to say, to always go with what you know is right when

Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong

"Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong.”
-Wilford Woodruff

This quote shows how doing the wrong thing never takes you anywhere. If you’re not doing something right then you’re not gaining anything. Just like when your doing push-ups, if you barely go down when you do push-ups then you’ll see very little results happening. If you do go all the way down then you’ll start seeing improvement dramatically. Just like when you cheat on a test you never get any smart because you never studied you just decided to cheat. Every time you decide to do something the wrong way you never gain anything. You actually start to hate the fact that you cheat and don’t do it the right way. The best way to do anything is the right way, the way it’s suppose to be done. Without not shortcuts or any kind of cheating involved.

step up and do the right thing at the right time

“It’s a great moment when someone has character to step up and do the right thing at the right time.” -Pam Knox

This quote is trying to show us that the best thing you can do is the right thing. Also that by making the right choice you not only make yourself proud but also others. People always remember when someone did what was right when it was needed the most. Coaches always appreciate it when people do what is right. For example if your coach tells you to run 1 hour before practice and the rest of the team decides to not run. But you still run without them, you’re the one that’s going to be more fit than everyone else and the coach will be able to tell during the games. By running your also showing the rest of the team who to follow. Just by doing what is right you’ll always get recognized by someone. It feels good when you do the right thing.

A promise must never be broken

“A promise must never be broken.”
Alexander Hamilton
This quote indicates that promises should never be broken because then no one would trust you. If no one can trust you then you won’t have any connections. You can’t do certain stuff without other people’s help. You will also be losing friendships with people and also trust. If you don’t keep your promises then it can get you fired from a job. It could also get some of you privileges taken away from you. People will also stop depending on you to do stuff for them. That can lead them into replacing you.
