Eight great reasons to tell the truth

Eight great reasons to tell the truth
Barbara A. Lewis
Image result for truth
  1. Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There’s less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict.
  2. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed  or punished.
  3. Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened.
  4. You usually get in less trouble for telling the truth other than for lying (and getting caught).
  5. Other people trust you more when you tell the truth.
  6. You don’t have to tell (and remember) more lies to keep your story straight.
  7. You gain a reputation for being truthful- a trait most people value.
  8. Telling the truth helps you to feel secure and peaceful. Inside.

I agree with Ms. Lewis with some of these reasons, like reason 3 is just plain dumb. But i do like reason 5 because i do think that people do trust you more when you tell the truth. I also think you should always tell the truth even if you know it can hurt the other person. Reason number 6 is kinda true as well because once you lie you more than likely going to keep having to lie. Number 7 is also true because people can start notice that you lie to much. Then they’ll never want to hang out with you or even talk to you. Maybe because they think you’re just going to backstab them or you’re going to do something behind their backs. Number 8 i think is just mental and internal, if you think you’re trustworthy than you wouldn’t think like that even if you really aren’t trustworthy.

Phillip Riggs’ Four Success Tips

Phillip Riggs’ Four Success Tips

  1. Work Hard
  2. Follow your passions. Do things you are interested in doing.
  3. Don’t chase after money.
  4. Serve others. Do good things for others, and good things will come to you.

Reflection: I think that these four tips helped me realize that I should be looking for a job that I’m passionate about not only for the money. Also that nothing in life is just handed to you, you have to work for it and work hard. Also do things for others just like you would want them to you. Also that money really isn’t everything. By serving others and putting others before you, you invest in them. Then they’ll know that they can count on you for anything and you can count on them for anything as well. Also by working hard, and doing it all the time you’ll get better results which would make it more fun to do.  In my opinion i rather be a job that i love then in a job that i don’t like but need for the money. If you’re passionate and good at something why not pursue that path and see where it takes you. But not only for the money but because you love what you’re doing.

Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong

"Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong.”
-Wilford Woodruff

This quote shows how doing the wrong thing never takes you anywhere. If you’re not doing something right then you’re not gaining anything. Just like when your doing push-ups, if you barely go down when you do push-ups then you’ll see very little results happening. If you do go all the way down then you’ll start seeing improvement dramatically. Just like when you cheat on a test you never get any smart because you never studied you just decided to cheat. Every time you decide to do something the wrong way you never gain anything. You actually start to hate the fact that you cheat and don’t do it the right way. The best way to do anything is the right way, the way it’s suppose to be done. Without not shortcuts or any kind of cheating involved.
