Reflection: I agree with this quote because the only way to have peace is for all of us to have good character. We have to respect one another and treat each other like we want to be treated. We can’t be hypocrites, but we have to make sure we’re always having good character. If we want something to happen we have to set the example. The things is that if have a good character means being someone i’m not then i would want to have good character. I rather just be myself but still respect other and treat them how i want to be treated. An example can be something like if someone does a favor for someone. Then that guys goes and does someone else a favor. That’s the only way that this could work. Someone has to set the example on how to have good character. I totally agree with quote by chinese proverb even though i might never happen.

Malik Stewart is known as a good person because of one act he did, in the other hand Roman Chapa is known as a bad person because of how he cheated. In Malik Stewart’s story we learn that you should always do the right thing even in rough times. Even though he lost the match he decided to be a good sport and congratulate his opponents dad. Instead of being mad and walking away he did the right thing. In the other hand Roman Chapa and his story, he decided to cheating. Roman Chapa chose the wrong because he thought it could benefit him, which it did but not for long. He got caught and now he looks like a bad person because of one bad thing he did. Now he got his privilege to race taken away from him. Even though Malik didn’t win he will still be known as a winner. And even though Roman won he will always be known as a loser.

I agree with Ms. Lewis with some of these reasons, like reason 3 is just plain dumb. But i do like reason 5 because i do think that people do trust you more when you tell the truth. I also think you should always tell the truth even if you know it can hurt the other person. Reason number 6 is kinda true as well because once you lie you more than likely going to keep having to lie. Number 7 is also true because people can start notice that you lie to much. Then they’ll never want to hang out with you or even talk to you. Maybe because they think you’re just going to backstab them or you’re going to do something behind their backs. Number 8 i think is just mental and internal, if you think you’re trustworthy than you wouldn’t think like that even if you really aren’t trustworthy.

This quote is trying to show us that the best thing you can do is the right thing. Also that by making the right choice you not only make yourself proud but also others. People always remember when someone did what was right when it was needed the most. Coaches always appreciate it when people do what is right. For example if your coach tells you to run 1 hour before practice and the rest of the team decides to not run. But you still run without them, you’re the one that’s going to be more fit than everyone else and the coach will be able to tell during the games. By running your also showing the rest of the team who to follow. Just by doing what is right you’ll always get recognized by someone. It feels good when you do the right thing.

Reflection: I think that all the commandments all mean to do what’s right and never lie. These commandments show how much respect they had toward each other. These commandments also show how religious they were. “Also how much they respect the great spirit”. This also show the teamwork and chemistry they had with one another. They not only had respect toward each other but also with the earth. They also respected the earth and never mistreated it in anyway. They could also trust one another and would always spend their time wisely. They also knew how to take responsibility which i thought was really good. They never lied to each other.

I agree with Henry Thoreau, the best investment you can do for yourself is goodness. If your doing good than you wouldn’t have to be worrying about anything else. You would have to be feeling sorry for yourself or being self conscious about doing something bad. Investing all your time in doing something good for your benefit is the best investment you can do for yourself. Not only because it will never fail but you’ll never regret doing it. Also by doing good, none of your privileges get taken away. Which gives you freedom and you would have to be wasting your time fixing all the bad things you did.

Dale Murphy’s statement indicates that “i won’t cheat” an example could be like not copying from a friend. Another example is short cuts, so let’s say you never did your own homework in high school.  And you made it to college well in college you’ll never be able to pass a class because they’re way more strict about cheating. Cheating is also bad because it could become a bad habit and bad habits always have a tendency of causing bad things. By not cheat your not only bettering yourself but you could feel good about what you’re doing. If you decide to cheat it's like deciding to choose the wrong, it’s always better to go the right way. Maybe it might not help you right now but it will have a much more huge impact later on.

Salary: A professional basketball player makes an average annual salary of $5.15 million dollars.

Education: Back then you really didn't need to have an education to make it to the NBA but now you need at lease on year in college. 

Reflection: I would love to be a professional basketball player, it's actually my dream to become a professional basketball player.

I agree with Rachel Castillo because if your always doing what's right then you wouldn't have to be worrying if your life is going good or not. By always doing whats right, your always going on the right path so your life most of the time is going good. If your living the right way then that must mean that your life is being taken care of in a good way.

The only true way of living is by doing what's right and by doing the what's good. I agree with Mr. Tolstoy that the only real way to live is by doing good because you feel good. For example if you decide to party and drink you probably think you're living but you're not living you failing to live. If you're on task and doing what's right then you are living. You're also going to have a better live because you're future is more brighter. Just like a recent post i did, you can't feel good when you're doing something bad, you can't be living a good life if you're not choosing good choices.

                 I agree with Dr. Peale the difference between a winner or a loser is their enthusiasm toward what it is that their doing. You have to want to do what your doing, you have to be excited. That's the only way you'll keep wanting to do what you do. You have to keep it interesting because if not then you'll get bored out and quit. What separates the good with the bad is not only hard work but also their passion for what their doing. Passion can open a lot of doors for what your trying to accomplish. Passion is what makes the difference from being successful and not. Like for example if your parents keep telling you to go to soccer practice but you really don't want to. Then you won't ever succeed in soccer because your not passionate about it. Your not willing to sacrifice stuff just to do that one thing.

Doing the right thing can't compare to winning a championship. When he says that he was trying to do the right thing, he doesn't just mean winning but also by making all his players feel special.

           I kinda agree with Dr. Randy Pausch because I don't believe by living a good live you can achieve your dreams. I also don't believe that your dreams will come to you. I believe that if you work hard then your dreams will come and you'll be able to achieve your goals. What I do believe about Dr. Pausch's quote is that if you do live the right way then Karma will take care of itself. This quote is pretty much saying is that if you live the right way then you can have anything you want. Also because Dr. Pausch believe in Karma and what goes around, comes around. That's why he pretty much says that if you live the RIGHT WAY then you don't have to worry because Karma will take care of you.

The quote pretty much means that the best thing you can do for this country is teach others what to think or how to respond "properly". I disagree with President Roosevelt, teaching people how to think and respond is the best thing you can do for this country. Maybe teaching the kids and giving them options on how their bodies should think and respond. The quote also means that the best thing you can do for this country is teach the children and i agree with that. Just not that they should teach us how to act, think, or be a human beings.

This quote made by Mr.C.S. Haymore means that you shouldn't let others be the ones who tell you what to do. Also that you should always take responsibility for all your actions and never blame anyone else. You shouldn't let anyone take your spirit away. Don't ever blame anyone else for not being healthy. Like for example you want to lose weight but you keep saying you can't because already made plans. Your just making excuses. Another example would be something like if your not where you want to be because "Its to HARD" your just being lazy and irresponsible. You should never let someone hold you back not even yourself. Your spirit can be what ever you want it to be. Your the only one that can control your body, mind, and spirit so don't blame others if your not where you want to be.

I agree with what Richard L. Evans is saying because you have to be courage to start doing stuff but also to continue doing them. Others usually start something but don't end it. It takes COURAGE and hunger to continue doing the right thing. Let's say for example you have a game in 3 days but you haven't practice at all. You have to choice to either START and CONTINUE practicing for the game for all the other games to come. But it takes COURAGE to do that. Just like it takes COURAGE to stop doing something you know your not suppose to be doing. Like for example hanging out with you friends instead of practicing because your ashamed what your friends might say.

School Break Days

School Break Days

I spent my vacation days mostly with my family but also in the park/school playing basketball. I also went to Disneyland like 4 times and in the fourth time it started to get dull. I had a couple of basketball games during the break one of them was against H.P. high school. I went to my aunt's house and I pretty much just hanged out with my family. The best part of my vacation would have to be the last day I went to Disneyland with my family. During the break I watched the new Star Wars movie. 

IDP Experience

IDP Experience

The IDP was horrible because I literally said my name like five times, that's how nerves I was. I kept stuttering in all my sentences and I couldn't pronounce some of the words. I guess it was because I didn't study or practice either. My  team members did great and i think they saved my butt. Our creative element was a live skit. I was kinda nervous but when I got up there i got into it.

I think what Mark Twain means is that you should always do the right thing every if it comes with sacrifices. Those sacrifices will then be for the better. Like for example, lets say you have your finals coming up but some of your friends want to go to the movies. The right thing to do is to stay home and study even if its boring. That is a sacrifice that will help you in the long run. Success or happiness comes with a lot of sacrifice. By always doing right your already getting closer to your goals. The only way to do something is the right way or else your not doing it at all. If your always doing the wrong and not doing something right then you might as well not do it. For example lets say your coach tells you to run for a hour without stopping, and instead you walk and you take brakes. Then your not doing it right, so why as well not do it. Success comes to those who are willing to work right.
